#28 Northeastern vs. #26 Wesleyan

The #28 preseason ranked Northeastern Huskies took down #26
Wesleyan 8-1. Northeastern went into the contest without their
#3 player but was able to rely on some Freshman leadership
to take home the victory. #1 Khurram Khan (Islamabad, Pakistan),
#3 Tim Bandel (La Salle), #4 Rob Blumenthal (Harriton), #5
JP Morais (Westminster), and #7 Buddy Scott (Episcopal) all
won their first match as a Husky. This recruiting class made
the splash they were brought into make by each winning their
match with a 3-0 score. Co-Captain #8 Steve Portela chipped
in with his own 3-0 win. Co Captain Mike Prince recorded a
3-1 win at #9 while sophomore Clayton Quarles notched a great
3-2 win at #6.
The men’s match featured two graduates of Urban Squash Programs.
Lonnie Gibbs of StreetSquash, a sophomore at Wesleyan, played
#4 while JP Morais of SquashBusters, a freshman at Northeastern,
played #5.
