With #3 James Birkins out indefinitley and
most the line up playing a spot above their usual position,
the Huskies had to be ready as they headed to Wesleyan for
a battle with #28 ranked Vassar. Coming off their closest
match in club history 5 days earlier, the team was feeling
very confident in their improving skills.
The match with Vassar will go down in Club History as what
transpired on court was one of the closest matches ever witnessed
by either squad.
With the score knotted at 4-4 and the #9's left on court and
games at 2-2, Narath Serei went up 8-6 in the fifth game and
was serving for the match for Northeastern. Vassar's player
fought off 3 match balls and took the game 10-8 and the match
for Vassar. It doesnt get much closer than that.
