Christian Rosstad picks Northeastern

Northeastern Men's Squash is excited to announce its first commitment for the 2007-2008 incoming Freshman Class of 2011--Christian Rosstad of Salisbury School.

Christian has played number one at Salisbury School since arriving as a Freshman. He has been a top Junior player nationaly since he first started playing squash. He has played a key role in helping transform Salisbury from a staple B Division team in New England Prep School Squash to one of the top teams in the A Division. Last year Christian paced Salisbury to a 15-2 record and a 14th place finish at the New England Championships. Salisbury is currently off to a 4-0 start this year with Christian leading the charge.

Christian is a tall and athletic player and will fit nicely into the Husky program. Coach Smith is excited to add Christian to next year's roster which will only lose 2 players from the top 9 to graduation. Coach Smith couldn't be happier about Christian's decision.

"Rosstad was one of the more heavily recruited players coming out of prep school and junior squash this year. His choosing of Northeastern over some of his other suitors certainly speaks to how great of a school Northeastern is as well as how far the squash team has come in just three years. He is going to instantly fit into the top tier of our lineup and keep us climbing the national rankings ladder. Christian's arrival couldn't come any sooner. "

Northeastern gets back to action January 19-21, 2007 with their matches at the Maine RR against Bates, Bowdoin, Colby, and Conn College.
