Due to an early win against Middlebury combined with Middlebury
upsetting some other teams in College Squash, the Men's Team
has moved up to #23 in the College Squash Association Jan
18 Rankings.
The CSA
is made up of 52 Varsity and Club teams that compete in
one overall division. In only its third year of exsistence,
the Huskies have now moved up 21 spots since the team finished
44 in 2004/2005. The move is the most movement in the CSA
in these three years and has put the Huskies ahead of storied
varsity programs. The Huskies are 3-3 this season and have
beatten three teams that took the team down last season. (MIT,
Middlebury, and Wesleyan). The three loses to the Huskies
have come to #1 Trinity, #11 Amherst, and #15 Tufts.
Last year the team won the "Chaffee Division" (teams
ranked 33-40). The squad has already moved ahead of 9 teams
they were below last season and are now into the "Summers
Division" (teams ranked 17-24).
Two of the team's goals this season were to make it into the
"Summers Division" and to crack the top 20. The
Huskies have achieved its first goal--for now--and are in
a great position to crack the top 20 with some matches coming
up with
#18- Hamilton
#20- St. Lawrence
#22- Rochester
